GRETA CHIRCO OF "SEW BE IT"

Let me tell you a little something…

By definition, folk art, (fok' art) n. is described as ~ art originating among the common people of a nation or region and usually reflecting their traditional culture, especially everyday or festive items produced or decorated by unschooled artists.

Indeed I am a folk artist in every sense of the word. With no formal education in art, much of my training has come from my years as a stitcher in various New England factories. From sewing shoes to shirts to trousers to handbags, I have acquired skills that allow me to easily express myself through my dolls. This ability is a gift I treasure dearly.

Sew Be It dolls began in 1991 as a home based business. Over the years it has become more of a “business based home” with fabrics and frills seemingly flowing from every room! I like to have my tools of the trade ever ready and present. Inspiration continually flows to open hearts. With God's help, I try to keep my heart open to receive and to give back. Life is a journey of love and heartache. Mine is best expressed through my work.

May my life touch your life through the work of my hands. Amen ~ Sew Be It!
